“At around 12am [today], there was a fire near Monkland and Fairview. Farmers and fire crews extinguished it quickly despite 20mph + winds. The cause is under investigation. If you see something suspicious, vehicle or person, please take a picture and contact law enforcement.”

I would like to thank all who have donated supplies for our firefighters and local farmers who have fought the Substation Fire. At this time we are filled to capacity. The love and support you have extended to us is greatly appreciated. ~ReeElla von Borstel
5. Sherman County Public/School Library Schedule Changes
Sherman County Public/School Library will be closed Saturday, July 21st. Our Adam Miller concert will be rescheduled for a later date. The End of Summer Reading Program Party will also be rescheduled.
The school facilities are being used as command post for the fire. For the time being please do not attempt to use the drop box. You may return any books and materials you wish to The Dalles Wasco County Library. You may also check out materials there using your Sherman County card, if you don’t have your card handy, just show them your ID. You may renew by calling The Dalles Wasco County Library at
