1. Sherman County School District Hall of Honor
The Sherman County School District celebrated the induction of three individuals, three scholarship donors, and one team into the inaugural Sherman County School District Hall of Honor, supported by the Booster Club, during half-time of the September 30, 2016, home football game against Dufur High School.
The 2016 inaugural inductees (or their representatives) pictured below (left to right) include long-time dedicated former employees Dale Coles (posthumously), Shirley Fritts, and Nell Melzer, the 1989 State Championship Basketball Team (the first in school history) and generous Sherman County Scholarship and District Donors Walter & Helen Bruckert (Scholarship Fund), Charles Davis (Education Fund), and James Weir (Memorial Fund).
The purpose of the Hall of Honor is to formally recognize outstanding contributions to the heritage and tradition of the Sherman County School District. It is the intent of this Hall of Honor Board to recognize and preserve the memory of students, teachers, athletes, teams, coaches, boosters, and others whose achievements and support have brought recognition and honor to the Sherman County School District.
